The result of this discussion was some ideas on rejuvenating backports and making it more useful as a general landing area for post-release updates to reduce latency for new features users are interested in seeing in existing Ubuntu packages (note: this does not compete with the ARB process, it complements it - ARB is for new packages that are not in Debian or the Ubuntu development release and this is for packages in later Ubuntu releases).
