Use Gnome-Do+Docky By Default

Registered by ScSWinter

In order to do a more pretty interface; compatible with all computers (old included) enablig the metacity compositer (gconf-editor); we can put the gnome-do+docky by default:
   - We got a downbar much more pretty and useful than the actually...
   - We got a fast-system serach alternative to traker with uses less memory..
   - Is compatible enabling metacity compositer with al VGA chipsets...
   - Can be a good reference guide of design to start a new interface of ubuntu...

I believe that its the time to redesign the ubuntu interface and this is a good idea because with gnome do we take the same funcionality taht the MACOS dock and MACOS spotlight... Two things very usefuls!!!

I (? was 'Every') can test it in a low-resources VM enabling — with gconf — the metacity composer; installing gnome-do; changing the theme to docky; also removing the classic downbar... It works and its very useful!!!!

Remark: Although it seems useful, I've used the past few days, but as far as the file indexing is concerned, there is a HUGE limitation to: 3000 files. This is the main reason why it isn't resource intensive! So for a full-fledged tracker/... replacement it isn't suited.

Yes but a normal user normaly dont use so much... And its for desktop edition.... Well thanks for considering it... ^^

Sorry. I *had* to make the top paragraph more readable. I have to agree in both cases. It isn't a full file-indexing service, and also that it is rather useful especially with the appropriate plugins. Docky isn't my cup of tea, though I do love that it's an option.
