Whiteboard

THe UDS session log is at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopExperienceTeam/MaverickUDSLog#dx-m-indicator-keyboard
and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopExperienceTeam/MaverickUDSLog#DX / Desktop Roundtable

The existing infrastructure is not ideal from the platform perspectives (ibus & xkb, with maintenance issues), and is subject to change. Therefore, the focus for Maverick is to get the 'indicator' right (along with some gsd menu changes), as opposed to aiming at a complete rewrite of the keyboard settings and backend.

Work items for ubuntu-10.10-beta:
[mpt] define the indicator appearance, depending on the different system settings and statuses: TODO
(turned into an LP task) port gsd keyboard icon to the app. indicator framework:

=============
I believe that most of the design work has been done; what remains is the implementation (start with 'dconf write /org/gnome/libgnomekbd/indicator/show-flags true') the integration of the necessary 'flag' assets (see side notes on bug #827426 comments #14 to #16) and coding and deploying up the additional features.

Hi,

This is not currently being scheduled for UDS as the name doesn't match
a track.

Changing the name to desktop-p-choosing-a-main-display-on-dual-heads or similar
will make it get scheduled.

Thanks,

James
