Deprecate acpi-support package

Registered by Martin Pitt

acpi-support is a Debian/Ubuntu specific package which duplicates a lot of functionality from hal, hal-info, and pm-utils. We evaluate its current status and provide a migration path.

This specification specifically ignores hotkey handling, which is already covered in ubuntu-hotkey-madness.

Whiteboard

2009-02-09 pitti: initial spec drafted, Two TODO items remain which need testing on affected hardware. I'll migrate the suspend quirks to hal-info ASAP and drop the corresponding bits from acpi-support.

2009-02-09 pitti:
 - gnome-power-manager obsolete postinst with gconf key mangling: dropped in 2.24.0-0ubuntu15
 - committed suspend quirks to hal-info upstream, uploaded to jaunty
 - committed to acpi-support bzr: dropping of suspend quirks and vbesave

2009-06-15 pitti: updated acpi event.d status; this should finally be approved for good, we are about 3/4 into implementation anyway

2012-09-12 tjaalton: While debugging bug 804109 I noticed that this blueprint is not finished, maybe revive it for R?
