Creating better Launcher icons with Masking
The current launcher icons that Midori creates are pretty lame. They use a web pages tiny favicon and the flat square look doesn't blend in to the desktop. We need to take a leaf out of the iOS book here and do something a little more special.

Whiteboard
The most immediate thing we can do is grab a larger icon. Most pages are now supplying an "apple-touch-icon" at 57-114 px for iOS. But there is also a provision in the HTML5 spec for larger icons using the same "rel=icon". The next step would be to apply a mask and overlay just like in iOS. This would transform a flat icon into a nicer native-looking one. -- DanRabbit
Dan, perhaps you could define an algorithmic way of doing a basic square icon, i.e. grab a background color, make an x% lighter border, etc. -- cassidyjames
