Pantheon Files and Noise run properly on 4/07/14 -- xapantu

* lightdm supports Wayland, but there seems to be a problem with gnome-session being used when lightdm is in wayland mode.
* light-locker needs to be tested under Wayland. I know the lock on inactivity will not work at first, but we can see if just locking via light-locker-command --lock works.

From my understanding of how Wayland works LightDM wouldn't need to support it, Gala/Mutter would incorporate the Wayland server instead. I reckon the main holdup would be Plank, screenshots, and accessibility as Wayland isn't likely to implement the functionality they need. Just my two cents -- alcinnz

pantheon makes extensive use of libunity/bamf to do fancy things like badges and window matching in plank. As a canonical product bamf does not operate in wayland, instead targeting mir excusively. a solution needs to be found: either replace bamf with dbus or port bamf to wayland.
