Not sure if you have tried BeatBox or not, but there is already automatic cover downloading. A tool to auto-fix mp3 data could be added to the wishlist by reporting a bug. --Scott

I am using version 0.2, but I can't find that function. Even songs with complete mp3-tags don't automatically get a cover. --Alex

The functionality is automatic and it fetches from last.fm. You may receive output from terminal if it fails to fetch the album art. Note that writing/reading album art from id3 tags is not supported yet. - Scott

Yeah it does fail. Output:
I/O warning : failed to load HTTP resource
I/O warning : failed to load HTTP resource

How could I get some more detailed info? Btw, the similar song do show up.
-- Alex

Maybe you don't have permissions in your music folder to save the album art locally. Also, note that you have to check "Keep music folder organized", or it will not fetch the album art. Lastly, there was a small bug that will not fetch the album art if it already has fetched the last.fm album info. I just fixed this, but it may take a while for the fix to get out.

Alright, "Keep music folder organized" was unchecked. Thx :) . Maybe it should be better communicated what this means. I thought that would only take care of the renaming and organization of my songs. Maybe a tooltip? Btw: Is this discussion already to OT? --Alex

Ha, yes, it's extremely off-topic. It was changed to that behavior when some people became upset of the images being stored in their folders. I agree it is not a good solution at all, but it will change once we can save album art to the metadata. --Scott
