Whiteboard

There's already ImageWritter that also works in Windows.

Yes, this specification supersedes it. We want a single application with the functionality of both usb-creator and ImageWriter that shares a consistent interface across all platforms. -- Evan

Would it not just be fairly trivial to port usb-creator to windows (recompile, fix bugs then show it off)? -- Tom Wright

No. But please read the specification before making comments. It explains that the necessary tasks involved in getting usb-creator working on Windows involve writing a new backend and making use of Wubi's winui interface library (to save space vs using GTK). -- Evan

2009-06-18: Given the work already done, I think we can get this in by Alpha 3. - evand

2009-07-27: Implemented. Waiting to hear back from the release team on whether I can include it on the daily live CDs, or if I have to pare down the size first (it's currently 2.0MB). -- evand
